The Finest Thought Leaders
Freddy Davis is the president of MarketFaith Ministries. He is the author of numerous books and has a background as an international missionary, pastor, radio host, worldview trainer, and entrepreneur. Freddy is a graduate of Florida State University with a BS in Communication, and holds MDiv and DMin degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a popular speaker, particularly on the topic of worldview and its practical implications for the Christian life. He lives in Tallahassee, FL, with his wife Deborah.Ā
āWhile there are many books on worldview from numerous Christian academics and experts, Freddy offers an easy-to-read primer that compares and contrasts the basic worldviews and shows the reader how each worldview is expressed practically within the realm of ethics and morality but also within the arenas of law, politics, economics, and other points of social expression. This is an excellent resource for any Christian wanting to understand why worldviews matter and how they influence our culture-shaping institutions.ā

āOur countryās transition to a secular, and pluralistic belief system, is no surpriseāwe hear about this regularly from the church pulpits, and we witness it in every sector of society. I have shouted from the mountaintop that our greatest concern should not be the impact of this on the world, but the impact on the Christian culture.Ā The Truth Mirageaddresses this in an intentional manner. Dr. Freddy Davis clearly emphasizes that Christians must understand their biblical belief system, and worldview, at a deeper level. He accentuates that a coherent belief system will not only preserve the Christian ethos in our churches, homes, and the greater Christian culture, it will also prepare and propel more confident ambassadors for Christ to make a difference in the marketplace.ā

āFreddy Davis is cutting-edge when it comes to defending the Christian faith. In this important book, Freddy provides his readers with an introduction to various non-Christian worldviews. He instructs his readers how to understand, evaluate, and refute non-Christian worldviews. In a post-Christian, post-truth culture, Freddy Davis sounds the alarm and prepares the saints for spiritual battle. Reading this book will enable Christians to both "understand the times" and "defend the faith once for all delivered to the saints.ā

Seriously, whatās the big deal?
Ā
In a culture where pretty much everyone lives life based on Christian beliefs, an understanding of worldview is probably not so important. And that is the environment that used to exist in America. But for Christians who live in an environment that is dominated by non-Christian beliefs, worldview knowledge is indispensable ... and that is the world we now live in. During the time when Americans were living in a relatively homogeneous environment, the Christian community developed traditions and methods that were effective for sharing the gospel in that context. Sadly, that environment no longer exists. Now if we wish to be effective sharing our faith and influencing the culture, we must develop new traditions and methods ā traditions and methods based on a missionary paradigm.
Ā
But just what does that mean, and how do we make the shift? Just what is a missionary paradigm? In a word, it means looking at life and culture through a worldview lens. Understanding worldview concepts is the key to preparing Christians to stand strong in their own faith, as well as to have the ability to effectively share Christ out in the world.
Ā
However, changing the churchās traditional way of interacting with the culture is no small task. It requires an expanded knowledge base, and a different way of expressing our faith in the culture. At the same time we cannot change the gospel message: Shifting from a traditional approach to a worldview approach does not change the message.Ā We are not proposing a different gospel, but a different way of interacting with the culture using the gospel.
Ā
Change is never easy ā particularly when it includes changing the way we think about faith matters and the way we express that through the church. But if we want to be salt and light in the increasingly pluralistic culture we now live in, we can no longer be satisfied to cling to the traditions and methods that were effective in the past.
Ā
As an expert on the topic of worldview, Dr. Freddy Davis can get the people of your church or Christian organization up to speed. He is able to effectively share what it means to operate from a worldview paradigm, but can also explain the implications of that change, and give you the tools necessary to actually become more effective in expressing the Christian message in todayās culture.
