Online Courses and Much More
We are open to acquiring new potential authors in the fields of business, finance, thought leadership, and Christian faith leadership for a limited time. We strongly advise you to watch our webcast before beginning this process, as it will not only help you determine if we are the right publisher for you, but it will also provide you with valuable insights for the next steps.
Book proposals from authors or literary agents should include the following information:
Author biography and credentials
A working title and subtitle; a brief synopsis of the book (1-2 paragraphs); a detailed table of contents; and market research.
Market comparable titles
Sample chapters (2-3)
The Acquisitions Director conducts an initial review of the proposals, assessing their alignment with the publisher's focus areas and market potential.
Proposals that meet the criteria are shortlisted by the Publisher for further consideration, and authors/agents are notified.
The shortlisted proposals are subjected to a more thorough evaluation, which includes the following steps:
Market research: Evaluate the proposed book's market demand, identify potential competitors, and estimate sales potential.
Content review: Assess the quality of the writing, the structure of the book, and its relevance to the target audience.
Complement the publisher's portfolio: Ascertain that the proposed book is consistent with Leadership Books' mission and complements its current catalog.
The Acquisitions Director may engage external subject matter experts to review the proposal and provide feedback on the proposed book's content, accuracy, and overall value.
The Acquisitions Director presents the evaluated proposals to the Acquisitions Committee, which includes editorial, marketing, and sales department representatives.
The committee deliberates on the proposals before deciding whether or not to proceed with the acquisition.
The author/agent is notified of the decision by Leadership Books.
If the decision is favorable, the Acquisitions Director begins contract negotiations, laying out the terms of the publishing agreement.
After reaching an agreement, both parties sign the contract.
After that, the Acquisitions Director starts the editorial, design, production, and marketing processes to get the book ready for publication.
From manuscript editing to book launch, an Executive Editor is assigned to oversee the entire book development process, ensuring timely completion and quality control.
The marketing team creates a promotional strategy, which may include author interviews, book tours, social media campaigns, and other marketing activities.
The book has been officially released and is now available for purchase through a variety of distribution channels.
Leadership Books continuously monitors the book's performance, providing ongoing support to the author and evaluating opportunities for future collaborations or additional projects after publication.
1. Where should I begin? Following the Webcast, you will be sent a calendar link to set up an appointment with our Acquisitions Director.
2. Will I have to pay for publication? We are not a Traditional publisher. If your proposal does not meet our standards, we will make suggestions on how to improve it. This could include suggestions for services such as manuscript development, ghostwriting, editing, or online course development. These are not required, but they can help you write a successful book that will resonate with readers.
3. How long does the publishing process take? We prioritize life-changing books and only accept a few titles per year. The process takes as much time as necessary but is completed as quickly as possible. We prioritize high-quality books, and you should, too.
4. Do you work with first-time authors? Yes, we regularly publish debut authors. We're on board if we like your proposal and you're committed to writing an exceptional book that will change lives.
5. What if my book does not fit into the categories of Business, Finance, Thought, or Christian Leadership? We have a number of imprints that may be suitable for your requirements. Begin the process, and our Acquisitions Director will contact you to see if we can help.
