The Healing of a Broken Heart

This book teaches the foundational principles and tools for dealing with issues related to overwhelming life events. You will learn about how trauma affects the heart and body. You will be taught the biblical laws and principles that keep you in the pain go your trauma, as well as those that heal you. You will learn to recognize your poor responses to the initial wound. This involves tracing back the root causes or initial wounds that lie beneath the surface of most events to understand how bitter roots are formed and how broken hearts can be healed through the biblical process of repentance, renunciation, and forgiveness.

Message for the Reader:

You will learn God's plan for salvation. God's plan for healing, the behavior that separates you from God, and how we return to fellowship with Him and the healing process.

Once healed you will be able to help others who are going through similar difficult times in their life. The techniques you learn will equip you to minister to others and fulfill Jesus' command.

About the Author

Norm Wielsch | LeadershipBooks.store

Norm Wielsch was a law enforcement officer for over 25 years. For sixteen of those years, he was an undercover narcotics agent. He experienced many critical incidents during his career. In 1998, he was diagnosed with PTSD and an incurable neuromuscular disease that caused loss of feeling, mobility, and strength in his hands and feet. After 30 surgeries he became addicted to opioids. Due to sinful and illegal responses to his PTSD, Norm landed in federal prison. It was there he answered God's call to minister to people suffering from trauma. While in prison, he obtained a Master of Theology, a Doctorate in Christian Counseling, and a Drug & Alcohol Counseling Certification. Norm counseled inmates, preached God's Word, and taught bible studies. Many inmates experienced God's healing power and were transformed through the biblical principles taught through Christ-Centered Healing.

Norm now serves as an expert in PTSD, the first responder culture, and speaks all around the world.

REVIEWS

I met Norm Wielsch at perhaps the lowest point in his life. His name and face were on every Bay Area (Northern California) news station for weeks on end. His story would be shared nationally as well, on Dr. Phil, Dateline, and more. I didn't know the elite police officer and top cop who was the head of the drug task force, the man who made all who knew him proud to be his friend or family member. No, I was introduced to the broken man, one battling suicidal thoughts, shame, guilt, loneliness, and, if the news reports were accurate, even worse.

But, on that Monday night, when we first talked on the phone, I sensed a man on the other end of the line who was filled with sorrow. He talked more about his family and their pain than the painful case that enveloped him. He was more concerned about all of them than his own judicial fate. He was out on bail while awaiting his trial and eventual sentencing. And He wanted restoration and healing for his family more than his own. He did the crime and was willing to do the time. That Monday night, as the opportunity presented itself, I had the amazing privilege of introducing him to someone he had never known personally. This man would be willing to do the time, even though Norm had done the crime. That introduction to Jesus would be the beginning of a healing and rebuilding process that would take years to accomplish. And today, you hold in your hands a resource and tool that could become a lifesaver for you or someone you deeply care about.

The steps and invaluable resources in Norm's incredible guide to restoring mental health are a must-read for anyone who has found themselves at a low point in life. So, read it, and by all means, share it with others. Lean into the painstaking information found in every chapter. The healing may come quicker than it did for Norm, or it may take even longer, but if you read with diligence, the good news is that the healing will come. And, when it does, can I be bold enough to ask you to do exactly what my good friend has done. Would you share this with someone whom you know will benefit from it? You see, Norm was never content to just find healing for himself. He desired healing for others as well. He wanted healing for first responders, leaders, politicians, counselors, pastors, family, and friends. And perhaps Norm was one of the millions of people in history whom God had in mind when he inspired the Apostle Paul to write the words found in 2 Corinthians 1:4, He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us (NLT).
– Retired Pastor Jeff Kenney

Throughout biblical history, many great men of God were broken down by divine or consequential circumstances. One was taken from his land and sent to prison, while another was knocked off a horse and blinded by a divine light.

Norm Wielsch, a well-respected law enforcement veteran during his twenty-seven-year law enforcement career, received many awards and accolades from local, state, and federal agencies. He has experienced a wide range of life traumas, everything from being the commander of a multi-agency narcotics task force to walking out of his home in handcuffs.

After receiving a fourteen-year prison sentence, he was committed to the Federal Bureau Of Prisons. It was in a federal prison cell; by divine intervention, God used inmate and former Los Angeles PD Officer Ruben Palomares to enlighten and heal the heart and soul of Norm Wielsch.

Christ-Centered Healing of Trauma: Healing a Broken Heart, is a book written by a man who experienced the traumas and their after-effects first hand. He experienced both the challenges and the tools used in his healing process.
